Interview

I have only submitted Part 1 of the application and the admissions office has already contacted me for an interview. AH STRESS!!
do we have to do this interview BEFORE our entire application is even submitted?

Also, is there anything I need to bring??

Stupefy, our daughter had her GU interview this week without having completed the appplication. It was not stressful at all. (The interviewer was a young alumnus.) As for bringing things, she was not asked to bring anything.

You receive the information about an interview after you submit Part I of the application. I had my interview last night, and I only brought my resume, and it went very well.

A good idea would be to bring your resume to any of your college interviews.

I applied awhile ago (section I) and haven’t heard anything. What States are they doing?
Perhaps I need to email them.

yea they got my part I 10/1 still havent heard anything. i guess they dont like me…

It takes a few days. Or they might not have any active alumni in your area. It depends, I guess.

And don’t stress about it the interview is probably the lest important thing out of everything. My sister is an alumni interviewer for Georgetown and its more of a character thing–they just look to see if your a (rather) normal person, I guess.

it takes several weeks to get a response
i sent my Part I about June 15, and I just got contacted on October 16 for my interview
they just started offering them a few weeks ago

its been 18 days now and still no e-mail. i think my part I is screwed up because i put the wrong month for the credit card. it went through, but still i’m concerned…

i had my interview and i went great! my interviewer was so laid back and casual :D

^^^^^^^ when did you send part 1???

GU arranges interviews as soon as Part 1 submitted. Remember - it’s an Alumni interview and it’s to make sure you wan walk, talk, and your not a lunatic.

On the big scheme of things an AO is looking for, the alumnus interview is not hi on the list! Interview is not stressful - whether to bring a Resume’ - My S asked the Alumnus when he called him to setup the date/time and he thought that would be helpful. He has provided a Resume’ on all his interviews so far and well recieved.

i’m just nervous because they got my Part I 20 days ago…

Do they have any unusual questions? Standard questions? How long did the interview last?

took about an hour. most of it was her letting me ask her questions. she was really chill

to those who are worried because they haven’t heard about their interviews after submitting part 1–I was too. I submitted mine and didn’t hear back until a month later. Don’t worry, an email will eventually come. I’m sure it’s rare for the type of glitch to occur where they would lost your submission.

^^^^^^ ok good cuz i heard 2 weeks is the average time and i thought that sounded too quick, especially since ive been waiting 3 weeks

I was wondering, do we have to do the interview before Nov 1st for EA? I hope not, because I submitted my part 1 a long long time ago and JUST got the email a week ago. I contacted my interviewer through email, and he replied back asking if this Saturday was okay. I emailed back straight away and asked where and stuff. He still hasn’t gotten back to me and I’m afraid I can’t make it before Nov 1st. Is that a problem?

oceanangel, I heard Nov. 20 is the date when alumni interviews should be completed, at least for early decision candidates at Georgetown.

Early Action*
