Interviewer did not show up

So my friend told me he had an interview on Monday and the interviewer never showed up. He emailed the interviewer but she has not responded. What should he do.

Interview will only affect the admission decision on some borderline applicants, no big deal, you see, even the interviewer did not pay too much attention.

Have your friend get in touch with his admissions officer and explain the situation.

Maybe “your friend” went to the wrong location? Or maybe the interviewer forgot. I’d contact te interviewer

What would be a good list of questions to ask the interviewer( I have one soon).

looool if the interviewer’s late or not there, your friends might get brownie points cuz the interviewer felt bad. I think that’s how I got in ^^

Good questions to ask: What did you find most memorable about Duke, do you have advice for first years, how are the dorms like, what was the most amazing opportunity Duke gave to you ect. Just think of subjective stuff that makes the interviewer reminisce about the good’ol days. Don’t be nervous, most interviewers are really nice haha.

I would definitely contact the admissions office directly if the interviewers has not responded to your email.

My biggest concern would be miscommunication about the time or place for the meeting. The interviewer might well have been sitting around getting miffed about being stood up. If this is the case then he will report back to the AO that the interview did not take place because you were a no-show. This will reflect BADLY on your application (lack of interest in Duke, irresponsible applicant, inconsiderate, etc.).

Interviews do not count for much in the application process unless there is a huge negative like a no-show.
