Interviewer Recieves Decisions

So I read that the interviewer if you had one, finds out your decision about 1-2 days after you get your decision...why are the interviewers getting YOUR decisions? Just a curious question lol.

^because sometimes, they helped you get your decision.

If i were an interviewer I’d be curious if my kids got in

This seems to be a common practice - not sure why you are so shocked.

I believe it was my UChicago interviewer who said he would give me a call if I got accepted to see if I had any questions.

Believe it or not, it actually is the interviewer’s job to try to convince you to come once you are accepted.

It’s not some insidious plot to pry into your life, WinAllDay. Usually, interviewers are advocates for most applicants. When one gets accepted, they share vicariously some of the excitement of the student. Also, they take a little ownership of the successful candidacy. Finally, they can be instrumental in swaying the student to matriculate – as I’m sure you can imagine, a Yale admittee is likely to be courted by a whole host of other institutions. Yale will invest a lot of capital into getting that “We want you” into “Yes, I accept”.

And it’s true. We hear about only the students we interview about 3-4 days afterward through our portals or through our ASC coordinator.
