interviews in Chicago?

I live very close to Chicago, turned in my application on Dec. 10th, and yet I received an email saying that there are no closeby alumni to interview me. I find this hard to believe. Is there anyway I can get an interview?

I live in a suburb of Chicago and definitely got an interview (actually did it in the middle of December). A friend of mine lives nearby and had a different alumnus interview him a few weeks ago, so I know there’s at least 2 in the area that are doing interviews. I think maybe you should call the admissions office; maybe they don’t have your location right.

Ask if they can schedule an interview in a nearby suburb, wherever you are I’m sure you wouldn’t mind driving around 30-40 minutes or so to meet your interviewer, especially if it’s for Duke!

I called the admissions office and got the royal run-around, unfortunately. It turns out there’s an interviewer literally 5 minutes from my house, but they said my area’s not covered. I even emailed the head of the alumni association in Chicago, but so far nothing. I’m really disappointed, because I really wanted to interview for Duke. =</p>

My advice would be to keep trying, hopefully they’ll see your persistence as a good thing even if you don’t end up getting an interview!!
