interviews

has anyone requested an interview yet?

No, but I had one last year, and it was not bad at all, especially compared to other colleges - the format was very laidback and casual. :D

I had one during the summer. It wasn't bad at all, it's pretty informal and it's basically just a conversation with another person. And the people who interview you are seniors, so it's not some imposing admissions officer drilling you with questions.

I'm having an off campus interview w/ an alumnus...did anyone have one? (sorry madjoy i'm not sure which one you are referring to)

yeah, I had an alumnus interview. . . I'm sure the experience varies a lot based on the specific alumnus but my interview was very pleasant!

heh i know a few senior interviewers - they're pretty awesome. don't stress.

thanks...i had my interview this week, it went very well and the alumnus offered a lot of insights into Wes that the brochures definitely couldn't

if i did an on campus, should i still do an alumni? if th school woudl appreciate it at all id definitely do it as they are probably my first choce

Nah, usually people just do one interview - alumni interviews tend to be for people who couldn't get to campus to do an on-campus interview. And as for Wesleyan being your first choice, good choice :P

my interview was with a senior late this summer, and it was fantastic. we basically just had a conversation about the kinds of stuff we are interested in. i didn't feel the least bit uncomfortable, and my interviewer was more than willing to answer anything on my mind :)

Hey
I just had my interviewer and the woman was awesome. It was really relaxed and she was just cool all around. I'd advise doing one, just pick a name from their list, the all must have been cool to go to Wes.

I'm having mine today!

My mum was like, "Wear a blazer, polo, dress pants.."

... but I think I'm just going to wear what I normally wear.

Yeah, don't go out of your way to dress up or whatnot. I mean, don't look like a total slob, just dress normally. It's not meant to be extremely formal.

My D interviewed on campus last summer. Should she also request an alumni interview locally?

I think an interview is enough.
Glad to hear that you guys had a pleasant experience. Success to all :)
