How much emphasis do we think the admissions office puts on the interviews? I think mine went ok but not great and I wonder if that hurt my chances of getting in. I was wait listed even though everything else was pretty solid. Do all of the admissions officers ask the same questions? I had an older man who I had trouble relating to, but one of my friends had a younger girl and said that her interview went great. Who did you all have? How was it?

I had a guy who was probably in his mid-twenties when I interviewed in 2009. I thought the interview was kind of bleh. Not bad, but not great, either. I was really nervous, so I wasn’t as articulate as I would’ve liked, and the guy interviewing me seemed so… uninterested and bored.

But I got in, so I guess either my interview wasn’t as bad as I thought, or they didn’t really put much weight on it. Personally, I think what makes and breaks applications is the short answers for the supplemental application.

If it makes you feel any better, though, I’ve read other threads about Wake Forest interviews, and several other people have complained about interviewing with an older man they didn’t really click with. Might’ve been the same guy.
