I received an e-mail yesterday asking to have an interview, but I never requested one. Did those of you who have already had an interview request one?

No, I didn’t. It’s just because there are alumni in your area available for interviews

The Duke Alumni Association, in conjunction with Duke Undergraduate Admissions, attempts to offer all applicants an interview. The process is initiated by application submission; no additional request is required. These interviews are not mandatory, however, they are a small, additional information source to be assessed.

You should be sure to reply to the email. The first contact attempt should have been by phone so if you received an email, s/he is already on a second attempt to reach you. Don’t leave the interviewer hanging.

Even if you don’t want an interview, reply politely (and promptly) with your clearly explained reasons. If they don’t hear back, you will have this lack of response noted in your application.

Our DD got her RD application in on time to be considered for an Alumni interview but we haven’t heard from anyone yet. We were wondering if anyone in the Northern Virginia area has heard from anyone?
