When are we supposed to be contacted by our local rep for interviews? I live in WA, started my app over the summer and recently submitted all materials, and haven’t heard anything. Is this normal?
Are you applying Early or Regular? If you are applying Early, the interview should be done within a couple of weeks of the application being submitted. I would reach out to the Alumni Admissions Program if you haven’t gotten any notification as that needs to be done immediately.
I’m doing EA, and I submitted a week and a half ago, and I have received no notifications besides the automatic acknowledgement of my application being submitted. I’m hesitant about reaching out to the Alumni Program because they state very specifically on their website that they will reach out to you, so I wanted to see if the wait was normal or not.
I think it usually takes about three weeks for them to contact you? It took about that long for mine to contact me

Is it possible to get Interview without submitting application? How do they know about you? We havent received our interview yet. submitted last week of October.
My daughter is applying RD. She submitted the first part of the application but not the final application, and she received an email from her interviewer within a week of submitting it. So I know it is the first part of the application that triggers the interview email. But the interview email does NOT go to the student – only to the interviewer. Her interviewer asked her if she got the email from Georgetown regarding the interview and she had not. We checked her spam bucket and there was nothing. My conclusion (guess) is that the email to generate the interview only goes to the interviewer, probably because Georgetown doesn’t want anxious students harassing their interviewers if they are too busy or for whatever reason don’t contact the student. I believe we were fortunate to be referred to an interviewer who has/makes time to do interviews. I’m not sure I am correct, but it looks that way. And I am not sure how you should proceed
Alumni interviewer here, and you are partially correct, Daddio3. You are right in that it is submission of part 1 of the application that triggers the interview process. However, it is not completely automated. The names of the applicants are first given to the alumni regional head who in turn assigns them to the interviewers in his/her region. Once that happens, an email is supposed to go to both the applicant and the alumni who has been assigned to do the interview. As interviewers, we are specifically asked not to contact the applicant first. We are supposed to wait about a week before trying to contact the student.
OP, if you haven’t heard anything by now, I would call the admissions office and let them know.
Makes sense from what we experienced, except my daughter never got that initial email. She only got the part 1 submission confirmation. That is why a week after that email, the interviewer contacted us.
No Interview yet.Initial Application submitted 09/21. final submittal with Supplement submitted 10/31. Called georgetown. they said, it is not necessary and will not affect your decision. specifically requested for an Interview. they said cant be done. I am Kind of not happy about the whole thing.
