Ok so when I visited Carnegie Mellon over the summer I had no idea that you were supposed to sign up for an admissions interview. Anyways at most colleges the interview seems to be more informational than important to the decision regarding one’s application.
But for Carnegie I kind of have been getting the vibe that interviews are very important to them. Are alumni interviews “as good” as admissions interviews, and should I contact an Alumnus for an interview? Will they contact me since I applied? Would having/not having an alumni interview affect my chances of acceptance?
I don’t want to interview if I don’t have to but I don’t want to NOT interview if it could ruin my chances of acceptance.
Thanks!
