Interviews

Holderness— back on the phone…sigh

When do folks generally start scheduling Skype interviews?

We scheduled some Skype’s as early as October. I’m not sure that’s what folks generally do…but that is what we did…

@vwlizard Your son’s list is similar to my dds last year. What sport does he play? We loved Dublin School and Darrow too.

I hate to “out” Proctor but both our kids had poor interview experiences there. After 1st kids interview, we were told dd was good fit but AO didn’t feel our daughter wanted to attend, which was an accurate read but hard to hear at the moment before you have even had a talk with dd. 2nd kid’s interview was as a late applicant and we were told, again, daughter was potentially a good fit but they were holding out for a hockey player! Said not to expect to hear anything for a month or more (unusual for late applicants who typically hear shortly after application is complete) They then followed up via email to encourage us to complete our application and our feeling was why would we bother? Both kids pretty discouraged by their visits. Both kids happily placed elsewhere too. I will say I actually appreciate some schools honesty and openness after an interview. Several schools gave us helpful and very honest advice, but Proctor seemed to shoot itself in the foot with their delivery.
