i was just wondering, does NU give interviews to prospective students? i was looking around on their website and they don't seem to have a link for scheduling one.. does anyone know if they give any? thanks!

Yes, thru local alumni

Here's the site: http://ugadm.northwestern.edu/aac_intv/

Yet, it seems it is too late to book an interview and no more room to get into an interview.

I see that you applied ED. The admissions office told my D that all ED interviews had to be completed by November 1. Only alumni interviews were offered and she told her that very few ED kids interview. My D was able to schedule a last minute ED interview before the 1st, but I got the feeling that it certainly wouldn't count against you if you didn't have one.

oohh bummer. blah, i should have checked their site sooner. ok, thanks anyway!

The interview is considered but not essential!

Are the interviews for Northwestern really informal (the interviewer mainly answers your questions; doesn't really ask questions) or not?

Oh and what kind of questions do they ask? I mean, I'm guessing they are going to ask "Why do you want to go to Northwestern?" and etc, but anything that caught any of you off-guard somewhat?

For Regular Decision applicants, it is not too late to sign up for interviews.

Please know that interviews are only available in certain areas where we have Alumni Admission Council members. To learn whether interviews are available in your area, please visit http://ugadm.northwestern.edu/student-intv

i applied ED to NU and had an interview. It wasn't informal or formal...it was somewhere in between. I met with an alum at his office, and he asked me the typical interview stuff -- what makes me interested in NU more than any school, what didn't you like, what do you do outside of school, etc.

Oh darn...there are no alumni in my area?! That's surprising and sad. I actually like interviews.
