Interviews?

In the flurry of getting applications out on time... I think I may have overlooked the detail about Cornell offering interviews. I didn't sign up for one or anything, and the website has only registered Part I of the app, (much like everyone else.)

So... I was a little put-off, yet excited, to receive a call this evening from an alumnae to schedule a meeting with me (he never actually said interview.) I said that I would call back tomorrow, and I think that I may call Cornell first to make sure it's legit.

But before I do that, has anyone else recieved a call? I know I'm a little paranoid, but I can't help it.

Thanks so much in advance,

Whatever you do, don't use the term "alumnae" to describe him during the interview.

i didnt sign up for an interview anywhere. although you must for an on campus interview. a local alunmus convieniently called me up one day to see if i was interested. i said yes, and had the interview. my interview (it was really just me asking about the college life) turned out really good because my alumnus graduated from the same field. i personally attribute 40% of my acceptance credit to the alumnus.

Are you saying not to refer to him as an "alumnae" because I should have used the singular "alumnus?" Or did you mean something else??

But when/if I do have the interview, I'll make it a point to ask about his connection with the school.

"Alumnae" is the plural for female graduates. Who knows? He might take it the wrong way...

But yeah, for my interview (which was entirely by phone, though), he just called. I don't recall hearing anything from Cornell about him. Now that I think about it, maybe he was just pretending...
