Interviews

Has anyone done an interview yet? I am trying to prepare, and am wondering if they just ask basic questions (my guess is no).

Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Is there anything BASIC about Chicago?

Just know who you are- and where you want to go in life. Although I felt that my interview did not go as well as I hoped, I was still accepted. Don't worry so much and be yourself. I'm sure they'll love you.

When my interviewer heard where I was from, he immediately started talking about baseball this, blah blah, and I was really discouraged... -baseball is one of the few topics I hate so much that I really can't BS my way out of- so I just decided to be honest and frank and state, "I don't really follow any sports." He replied, "Well, what do you follow, then?" From there on, the interviewer was friendly, inquisitive and challenging. My UChicago interview was the only one I truly enjoyed, (and I've interviewed at 5 colleges) because it felt like a real conversation, not a marketing routine. We're students, not cars! Remember that and you'll be fine.
