ive submitted forms for interviews for choate and exeter...
choate sent me an email w/ contact info for an alumna
exeter sent me an email confirming my request
i sent an email to the choate alumna a few days ago
exeter has yet to contact me

.. what do i do? adcoms dont work on weekends right?

you didnt send in the apps or anything?
well, if they confirmed it, then its their fault. call them?
some do work on saturdays and some work on MLK jr. day because people have interviews then

..just noticed on hotchkiss that it said "students requestin off-campus interviews should contact out admissions office WELL IN ADVANCE of the applciation deadline"...should i not bother applying?

whens the deadline?
you can just call and say that you really did not know and ask if it's too late.
if not, apply! i mean, schools are interviewing in february still because they're so packed, so try.

Didn't you already do the other stuff to apply? Why would you? If you've already done everything else, it seems silly to throw it away without even trying.

jan. 15... 2 days. won't i seem like im disorginized? i dont know.. hotchkiss was like, a backup for me (not that its a safety) if i didnt get into andover but didnt want to go to blair or tabor..eh i dont know......!!!!!!!

Some schools accept it. I'm in the same situation as you are blairt. Stay calm. They won't just discard your application because it's a day late.

If it's postmarked by the deadline then you will be fine. If it's postmarked the day after the deadline you would be treated as a late applicant.

blairt, if you're seen as disorganized, then you might not get in. If you don't apply, you definitely won't get in. I personally would go for the former, but it's up to you. :)

Don't assume that postmarked by deadline is considered meeting the deadline. Two of the schools my daughter is applying to specifically say postmarked. The rest are less clear. At two of the schools I discussed this specific question with adcoms and they said the intent of the school is received (not postmarked) by deadline. The good news though is that it sounded like from both of them that applications received for a little while after the deadline are still given regular treatment (although seems possible that there might be negative perceptions regarding the tardiness).
