<p>Does anyone know if Wustl does interviews around Chicago? I don't want to make the trek back to St. Louis for an interview unless I have to.</p>
<p>hey, man, i know too much about this school to not get in, but when i was there this past summer, i had an "interview." it was just a student talking to me about how school was, nothing special, and certainly not worth going back to st. louis for. (no admissions counselors do interviews, only students on campus)</p>
<p>Actually, admissions counselors DO give interviews. I went to the campus in October (part of the Discovery Weekend) and I got a chance to interview with Mrs. Tarbouni (the Director of Admissions). Needless to say, it was pretty cool since everyone else WAS having interviews with students. I got to interview with her since my interview schedule was messed up and they couldn't get another student for me. But, it all turned out all right in the end! </p>
<p>waterski23, there is a chance that you could get interviewed by an admissions person (if you want that), so I suppose you could just ask the Office of Admissions by phone.</p>
<p>Yeah - i'm from Houston, TX and when I went up to WUSTL they totally hooked me up with an interview with Jerome Strickland - the Regional Admissions officer for Texas. I'm not sure if it was an interview so much as us discussing the university. Nonetheless, it was really cool.</p>
<p>They'll also set you up with someone in your area automatically upon submission of the 50 dollars and your application, if you can't go back to St. Louis very easily.</p>
<p>Actually, if you visit the campus, you can request to have an interview with whatever departments you are applying to. I just visited on Dec 2nd and had an interview with the Head of the Engineering Department (I'm majoring in BME) and another interview with the Music Department (minoring in Vocal Music). My interviewers were EXTREMELY nice and welcoming and they answered all my questions. Mr. Stewart, from the music department, actually played the piano and let me sing a song for him. </p>
<p>Call the Admissions Office and accomodate you however they can. You can personalize your visit and really make the most of your time. I definitely encourage you to visit the campus and really get a feel for the environment. It reassured me that WUSTL is indeed the place for me. If you can, I would definitely recommend that you visit the campus for your own sake. </p>

<p>Of course. One of the things my mother and I wondered about was if going at the beginning of December was worth it or not. But really, the sooner, the better. And there's still enough time. Even if you don't make EarlyII, you'll be better off for Regular. It shows interest, which Wash U puts so much emphasis on. They have way too many good candidates, they need to know who WANTS them badly. Also, once again, it will allow you to get a feel for the campus and see if it's the place for you or not. Personally, I was touched by the people--everywhere we went, whether student or professor, the people were what made my experience. They went out of their way to help us feel at home and really gave me something to remember. Definitely go visit as soon as possible!</p>
