How important are interviews? Can anyone share their experiences?

as far as i know, they're not very important b/c not everybody gets them. there aren't enough alumni. Though the interviewer does submit an evaluation, so it's a small boost if it goes well.

Didn't get a call for interview for RD. Did anyone get one?

i had mine a few weeks ago

here's what i wrote....

i don't know what to say other than awful. he was completely self centered and spent the majority of the time explaining to me how successful he and his family have been. oh, and penn is the most awesome place ever. he also had the courtesy of openly insulting my school. overall, he made some very arrogant and off-color comments. it was an hour and a half.

but who knows - when he wasnt cutting me off in the middle of responding or talking about himself, i made the most of the times i was able to actually speak.

Don't stress over interviews. View them as an opportunity to talk about the school and your interests -- it's your chance to find out about the school from a past student firsthand. Looking back, I wish I would have asked more questions. It's something you only "discover" by actually attending college, but there are things you may not see as important before college that you find important during college.

Anyways, interviews aren't that important, but a good interview certainly won't hurt you!
