<p>Has anyone gone for an interview here yet?</p>
<p>I've just been informed that the admissions crew want me to reapply as a transfer due to previous college experience. I would like to do an interview as I have they extra time and as I am now very worried about my application.</p>
<p>What kind of questions were you asked?</p>

<p>i had an on campus interview in october. i went to the fall preview days, so every 30 minute block was taken and we couldnt go over. she mostly asked me questions about my interests- things that were on my resume and things that werent. it seemed like she really wanted to let me talk and get a sense of who i was. it was cool, i wish i had had more time to talk.</p>

<p>i did have an on campus smith interview as well. it was a bit different- very by the book. i liked my interviewer and it was very relaxed. she really got into the nooks and crannies of my application and encouraged me to elaborate on anything i wanted to. </p>

<p>I'm guessing BM will want me to transfer aswell, so I have to take some time off work to actually do these interviews.</p>
<p>When my D applied two years ago she did two interviews. One was with a local grad, and the other at Smith admissions. Both were relaxed, and both concentrated on her interests. Always a good idea to interview.</p>
<p>I emailed my interview over a month ago and never heard back. That was sort of annoying because I'm really interested in Smith and was looking forward to an interview, but oh well.</p>
<p>The interviews are super relaxed, the admiss. staff likes to think of them as "conversations" (as touchy feely as that might seem). They'll just ask you the usual stuff, why do you want to go here, what are your interests outside of school, etc.</p>
<p>Oh man, now you're just bringing me back to my Smith interviews ages ago! And I totally forgot about them! :) I did two- one with an alum and an adcom (that I'm still friends with!). Both were very relaxing though the alum was pretty high powered (because she IS and was a former trustee!) so she almost drilled me as to see if Smith and I would be really good fit for each other. But the adcom was wonderful -she wanted to know all about my interests, school, etc. She let me talk forever and we shared a couple of great laughs. I think I told her a lot more than my application did. That was definitely my longest college interview that I had (by about 45 minutes to an hour). After that, my interviews for other schools weren't as great as the one with the Smith adcom.</p>

<p>I just got a 23 word 'recommendation' from one of my old colleges (yes, S&P, the same college your friends are studying at) so it doesn't look like I'll be continuing with my application. I asked 3 tutors for recommendations last week. One was on maternity leave, one refused and the other didn't even sign the 'recommendation'. It just says that I spent the year there. I was actually a good student, although I failed one subject (which is deemed an overall fail) all the rest of my transcript has As & Bs and my course work has excellent reviews. So I was thinking of sending a couple of my essays with professors reviews on them?</p>
<p>But, I'm just feeling so dejected now. The college I last attended couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks for the advice.</p>
