ok i got an interview scheduled at the alumnis house…
1st question…should i wear a suit or dress casual?
2nd…should i bring anything with me i.e. resumes, essays, creative writing stuff?..she didnt really specify…

also…what r the penn interviews generally about? is it about you asking the interviewer questions? or them evaluating you…what kind of questions get asked for those of you who have had your interviews. thanks.

i would wear khackis/polo and that's just me. i also would bring your app. just to be sure and perhaps a writing sample. my legacy interview was like a conversation about penn with a bit of personal info thrown in. just relax; it'll be fine

the process is very unstructured. there's no dress code or anything.

some alums, especially older ones, may expect a suit, but others might think you're a tool if you where one. there's no real way to know.

i'd do something nice but not too formal either, like khakis and a polo shirt or button up shirt (be sure to tuck it in!) with generic black/brown leather shoes.

when they say it's more of an informational interview, they're not lying. they have a small form with some required questions on it, but it doesn't really count for much.

i had my interview on monday.. i was told not to dress up, and not to bring anything but myself.... i opted to wear nice shoes, a button down shirt w/sleeves rolled, jeans, and leather shoes.... she was very specific to me that i shouldn't dress up

My interviewer and I coudln't get together becuase of schedule conflicts, but she said it didn't matter and that she'd right something anyway or some such, and condcut a real interview if I get deffered.

bern700, interviews are very important for a large number of people who are on the line of being accepted. Especially during ED, most applicants are all-around students who lack hooks, so a good interview can mean the difference between matriculation and deferral.

sure needforspeed whatever you say. They mean ****, the admissions people at penn have told me so. I was actually going to work in admissions this semester but it didnt work out. Seriously an interview will in no way bump you from being rejected to being admitted. the only way it could affect you is if your a total jackass or jerk during it then it could affect your chances.

wow Bern. I followed you like you were a God last year, through your entire admissions process. I remember when you got in, that was quite a day :). Hispanic Male Chances from AZ. I still read your post at least once a week.

btw i was really drunk when i typed that. I got home from a party last night and was like "man i havent gone on cc in a while." then i was like i'll be a jerk it'll be fun.

sorry if i offended anyone. btw, hpnotiq, courvoisier, and the goose don't mix.

sweet
i was stressing about not getting an interview cuz every1 did last yr but u know.. ur AT penn and PENN ppl told you they don't really matter so u know, that's cool.
