Interviews?

Is it normal to have received conformation (ED), but not gotten called/emailed for interview by now?

Yup, same for me

Yeah, I think it's normal. I got my confirmation postcard a few days ago and I just got called by my interviewer today. I live in NY and I sent in my app the Friday before deadline (this is just so you can get a general sense of how fast they process stuff). However, I'd say that if no one has contacted you by late next week, you should probably call the admissions office.

I sent in my app...a month ago and I got the confirmation two weeks ago and still nobody has called me for an interview =(

Ah...I just called my interviewer back (I wasn't here when she called in the morning) and she was like, "Is tomorrow morning OK, or is that too soon?" Turns out she has to get them all done by the last week of November and she's going away on vacation next Friday. I managed to move the appointment to Sunday (I couldn't do it tomorrow anyway). Sigh...

Do all ED interviews have to be done by the last week of november?

is it weird that my probable interviewer will be the parents of my best friend's friend?

A little but it works in your favor doesn't it?

i don't know, i guess they're not really friend-friends, but he says they're really nice people so i guess that gives me comfort. (i actually don't know for sure though if they will be the ones conducting interviews)

I just really want my interview! I was hoping to go to the Princeton Club but I just want to meet an alum and talk about princeton. lol

talk to your guidance counselor, mine set up my interview before i even sent in my app.

"I just really want my interview! I was hoping to go to the Princeton Club but I just want to meet an alum and talk about princeton. lol"

Interviews usally have the alum asking you a lot of questions. In terms of experience, it would not be good to go to Princeton bsed on an interviewer's experience there 20 or 30 years ago. Back then, Princeton was the old-boys' club type of school - def not a friendly place for women, gays, minorities, etc. I usually raise an eyebrow when people talk of the good ol days like that.

Hmm, I don't know I would ask them so much about their experience. Maybe what they wrote their senior thesis on, but I don't really care about their social experience since even if I ask a grad from last year I'm sure I'd have a different experience than they did. I just want to talk about Princeton to people lol.

It was so awkward yesterday at school. In my spanish class three people are applying ED to pton, and we were first three there...one person was like "Hey we're all applying to the same school!" awkward silence evil thoughts I'm sure

Admissions is done by region, not by school. tell them to worry about the stuy mega-asians and not you.

lol that means I should be worrying about the stuy mega-asians too!
worries

my school's statistic is that half the people applying early will get in...and we have 85% of the people applying early. craziness

"we have 85% of the people applying early. craziness"

at my school barely 30% apply early... the counselor is strict on approving applications, and he only approves those with extrememly good chances.

85% is too high. You guys are gonna see a lot of disappointed and broken down girls and boys. Many of those applying probably don't have that great of a chance of getting in.

They're applying early but not all to Ivy-level schools. Some are applying to UVa and the like, but I agree. There's a lot of pressure and hype to apply early and I think some people do it for the wrong reasons. I think the people applying to pton are all qualified though =/

I mailed my application on October 29th, the friday before the deadline but I haven't recieved a postcard yet! I'm really worried, has anyone gotten a postcard after more than two weeks?

i havent gotten pton's own card, I did get the return receipt since i fedexed it, or is that what you're talking about

Princeton mails you a postcard. Call to check.
