I have the feeling that all CC members here are genius... I usually go the Chance me threads and all of them were 2000+SAT scores, GPA 4.99, a bunch of national awards and presidents of what-so-ever and they are all heading to Ivies, Small Three, Top tier schools.

CC members has helped me a lot with some difficulties, but in the same time, makes me feel puny - literary.

The thing about this is, you have to approach it with an attitude that you can do the same things as them, and even better/unique things than them.

It is not impossible.

When someone tells you that your stats/ECs/etc. are average/below average, that just means you have to do more things/change how you do things to reach a higher level of excellence. Not to become depressed or angry.

Also, it is hard to do lots of these things if you approach it with an attitude of, “I’ve gotta have tons of fun in high school”, sure you may have fun, but it is not a spree of “ooh look, lets do that”. It is easier to do CCer-like things when you have a higher goal, then you feel happy doing things that many people find grueling/impossible.

whatever, i just tell myself that all of the overachievers on CC are 5’ tall, social-reject-■■■■■■, who lock themselves in their rooms all night to study, & have no friends.

don’t worry and do not be intimidated by such fools who are insecure about getting into Harvard with stellar stats. really if all you do is worry about getting a 2400 on your sats, you’re going nowhere in life. and for the majority, i bet those chance threads are run by ■■■■■■. lol and you’re not the only one; theres a college confidential rehab group on fb for that ;]

No, I don’t feel the same.
I have nowhere near other peoples scores, but I don’t care for their scores.

I own all CCers, though. That’s why I don’t care about others stats and they don’t intimidate me.

Also, don’t go in the chance forum. That’s the stupidest forum on here. I think it’s complete fail when I see “Chance me and I will chance back!” That is so dumb. If the asker needs to be chanced for colleges from someone else, how is the asker able to chance back (since they don’t know their chances for their schools…) There are no admissions officers on there either - just high schoolers.

If you look at the stupid things many CCers do, maybe you will get the attitude I have.

No I dont feel imtimidated. My scores are not close to their scores, and plus I have no intentions of applying to the Ivys and the like, unlike many of the people here.

Nope. My test scores were close to theirs, but my GPA was lower. The difference was, I didn’t chase after a school’s name, I chased after the school itself. I defy CC standards by getting into UMich and going to a much, MUCH lower ranked school.

Be comfortable with yourself. If a school rejects you, you weren’t going to be a good fit there anyways. Why would you want to compete with people who intimidate you?
