for RD...does anyone know?

around 6-7% last year

And for ED?

Probably slightly higher, but overall international acceptance rates are much lower than stateside... even for New Jersities I do believe.

yeah, crosses his fingers :(

yup, internationally it is more difficult getting admited

last year 1,937 applied and 158 were admitted
a rate of 8 percent

total admittence was around 12 percent

i also would expect international applicants to have very strong profiles, more then the average applicant

oh damn....this is scary...
btw, does princeton puts a lot of weight on int'l GPA? i think the weighting at my school is very bad compared to US schools...i only get 0.5 for IB higher level and nothing for IB standard level or other honors. I heard other US schools give +1 for all IB courses..

and one more thing: testing
1) can toefl be used instead of the critical reading section? I heard some colleges allow that
2) i have SAT2's 800math2, 760physics, and 740chem ...are those good for princeton? Or just average? Should I retake chem?

your average is 767 which is 750+. This puts it in a good range for Princeton. I have 750 IC, 690 Physics, 680 IIC and I'm applying. If I get deferred though, my 750+ in WH will count. Overall, you are in good shape I must say, unlike me :p

so do they care a lot about SAT2's??

well, yes. last year I applied with terrible - TERRIBLE scores on the SAT II (690/680/640) and that pretty much sealed my fate for a rejection.

If you have awesome AP scores or have some great olympiad-esque achievements they can overlook lower scores on the IIs in that particular area (ie. a IMO gold medallist getting 600 on IIC etc. or 5s in Calc AB/BC or IB HL 7 with awesome school grades in them, maybe a rec from the teacher to support that you are a great math student will no doubt show u know math)

Personally, I wouldnt retake Chem, but if you have time and are absolutely certain of an 800, go for it. I bet they'l glance at your present scores and realize that you are definitely a valid candidate and then will weigh you in terms of ECs, awards, recs, essays etc.

What are the acceptance rates for New Jerseyites? Do they make up the majority of the ED pool?

Oh, God, please. I don't even want to think about how bad it is for us Jerseyans.

The numbers would haunt you. I think they would make up alot of the ED pool as well, saying that about 15% of Princeton students are from Jersey. There are also alot from Newy York, California, and Eastern Penn (No, not the prison...)

TOEFL is 20 times easier than CR in SAT I. You'd better take the CR if you don't want Princeton looks down upon you.

Not 20 times, 200 times easier

true...it is so much easier...i got 1 wrong on TOEFL, but i got only 550 on CR....that's why i'm hoping for colleges to look at TOEFL instead...(like MIT)

Don't mean to burst your bubble rispat, but that is SO not going to happen!

(OK fine I actually did mean to burst your bubble!)
