Hi, so I'm an international student but I have a slightly unusual circumstance.
The government of my country pays for my tuition to whatever uni I choose until I complete my degree. I indicated this in my my common app where I included the scholarship letter which details the terms and conditions of my scholarship.
My problem is I applied for financial aid as well, only hoping to get some aid with the living expenses (room and board) because it will still be a bit of a stretch for my parents to afford as I have 3 other siblings and the currency exchange rate with US dollars is only 1/2 of that of a UD dollar.

My question is, would my applying for aid affect my chances of being accepted? I understand that Columbia has a need-aware finaid policy for international students so I don't want my applying for financial aid to affect my chances when in fact the amount of aid I will need will be relatively little.

Is this something I should worry about? Will they take into account the scholarship letter I included? Please help!
