Int'l student needing help (biomedical)

<p>My background:
Institution: Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
GPA: (my uni doen't reli count gpa, instead we use cga and C+ is our mean grade) B- 6.5/12
Research experience: one summer of molecular biology lab doing gene cloning, one semester in Missouri doing undergrad research in chem lab (i am an exchange student)
Universities going to apply: USC, Tufts, UCSC, UC Merced, UCR
Actually I m not reli familiar with unis in the US.
Do I have good chance in getting into the above unis?
Or shall I apply to other unis?? (which???) </p>

<p>Have you considered doing a masters before applying for Phd programs in the states?</p>

<p>yes actually… but the problem is there is usually no stipend and tuition waive for masters…</p>
