Intl. student who has NO IDEA about how to apply for financial aid seeks help

Hello everyone,

I've finished applying to all my schools. Here's the deal. I originally submitted the Common App and the supplements while checking off "no" on any financial aid questions.

However, I've decided that I WILL apply for financial aid. I have absolutely no idea how to do this. Could anyone explain the basics to me? That would be very much appreciated.

I'm looking to hopefully get around 10K a year. I've applied to some pretty tough schools though :/

Anyway, thanks for any help and I really appreciate it!

You might start with this website.
You would not qualify for any federal aid.
Schools Awarding International Financial Aid

Go check out the profiles of Colleges/Universities on Common App website that you've applied to. In those profiles, there is a section called "International Students". Scroll down to the bottom of the page. You'll see a table. That table contains information about which forms you need to fill for that specific College/University.
The most common International Students forms are " Certification of Finances & Financial Aid Form". Carefully fill out these forms!

Best of Luck!

Another thing you should do is, go to the College/University Website > Admissions > International Students > Financial Aid for Intenational Students.

Over there you can actually see if the college/university actually offers aid to internationals or not. The forms and deadline for the submittion of those forms, all that detail would be mentioned there.

Again... Best of Luck!
