Hi just wondering if there are any international students that got accepted? Not sure if I would fit into the school from the comments I hear on the site. Im concerned about it being a rich guy's school and that people dont really embrace diversity..

Same here, those were the two things about Villanova that worry me a bit. would very much appreciate input from current students.

The international students I know usually hang out with other international students..

Do you guys ask for financial aid? I was accepted too but my award is not stated.

@ batdoi: I'm from Vietnam too. Which high school are you from?

i was accepted too! but no FA..
when your award is not stated it probly means you don't get any..
at least that's what happened to me

stephi878, I really hope those international students you know are the exceptions :(

@ rogueknight: nice! I didn't expect to see another Vietnamese on here. I did apply for FA and my need was met. I'm from Chu Van An HS. You?

anyway I think this thread's title is a little generic and misleading. Can you change it singapore1988? We need comments from current students, and I wouldn't look over this thread if I was not an international student.

rogueknight, i didnt ask for financial aid. btw, is rougeknight named after the dota character? haha

stephi, do u think i should try other schools becuz the villanova population sounds pretty xenophobic to me right now. i have offers from bentley, and bryant too.

I graduated a few years ago but I have several comments regarding international students/ diversity at Villanova. First, Villanova is not what it was in past decades. They are making a serious effort to increase diversity in all meanings of the word. I think international students integrated themselves into the larger student body and I don't know of any that felt like "outsiders." I think US students, like myself, always enjoyed working in teams with international students.
That being said, Villanova still may not be as diverse as some other schools. It may take some of you international prospects to pave the way for future international prospects. If possible, campus visits may be the best way to see if the school feels right for you! See if you can sit in on a class in your intended major, and look at the interaction among students.

Good Luck!

singapore1988, IMHO I think bentley is better. Its business school is really great. And Sven the rogue knight is a dota character. Dota is the only thing in my mind when I creat this account lol.

batdoi, I'm from HN Ams. I really cant find any information from Novasis regarding my financial aid, so I guess I receive nothing. Congratz on your acceptance and your aid.

I spent some time looking for the financial aid information as well. Hope this helps.

After logging into Novasis, click "Financial Aid Services" then "My Award Information" where you would view your award. The best presented page would be the freshman award letter page. Simply select "2009-2010 Aid year" there and click "view award letter".

oh no, now im confused. haha. how is bentley better rk? did u apply for that sch too?

oh btw how do i go about changing the title of this thread? dont seem to find such an icon haha

no I didn't, but just because of the limited finaid they offer to intl students. My close friend's brother is studying there and he just loves the school so much. That's why I always think Bentley is so cool. Haha it is just my biased opinion though, so nvm.

Did you apply for Business school? If yes check out the ranking on Business Week. Villanova even ranks higher than Richmond, Stern and Olin.

Yup i did check out the ranking thats why villanova was my first choice. but now that u talked about bentley... hahah
