I am an International student. I had joined Medical college, but I dint like it and I discontinued the course. I have joined a college to pursue BBA as a freshman. I am really interested in transferring to a good college in US for fall 2010. My high school record is quite good; 2200 SAT, 3.8 GPA and good EC's. The problem is my college record looks a tad unimpressive because the college evaluation is very tough; my GPA comes to only 2.6. I am sure that I could pull up my grades. I am looking for a college with a good business/econ program. And ya, I need Fin aid too. I know that not many colleges offer aid to intl transfers, but hopefully there are a few out there. So can anyone offer me some good suggestions??? Thanks!!

p.s: I am pretty sure that the courses I had taken in my previous college wouldn't be transferable in any university since those are courses that come under graduate studies.

unfortunately, it’s not going to be easy to transfer since you have a 2.6 and ask for fin aid. you will definitely have to explain why your gpa is so low but your high school record shows that you are not a bad student. there was a thread here somewhere that listed schools that give fin aid to internationals. good luck

maelstrom, i know what you mean about your college grades, the american system is sooo much easier than many others, i am a intl from sweden, and the university classes here are sooo tough compared to the US that its like ridiculous i mean like some of the best students i know(and they really are great students) fail at least one or 2 classes each year… most ppl only even try to get a C/pass because in many cases, higher than that means you need to be like an expert… :P

Thank you. My GPA is low only because of the grading system. My percentage comes to around 65 where the highest score itself would be only around 70. Thanks for your tip, I will certainly search for the thread.

Exactly.
Well I am sure that I can get the services of WES, cos they have my university on their list, so hopefully that could work to my advantage.
