You called India or USA
Admission office is closed today, they always mail letters on Friday. I think they should have mailed them on 16 th. Packages should be in tracking system by midnight on 16th.
Damn

both..DHl USA and India.....they both gave the same story

But if the packages were mailed on the 16th then how is it possible that nothing has been sent from MIT to India since the 15th? I hope its not like they have rejected all the Indian applicants!

u guys... cant u wait for another 6-7 hrs... u all r making the situation all the more tense....

I can't, I am not viewing them online.

It's very unlikely that they rejected every single Indian applicant, don't be ridiculous.

Seriously, though, wait a day. If you're checking your decision online, it's just a few hours, and if you aren't, this sort of semi-reliable (mis)information is not going to help.

ok everybody, SORRY FOR THE BAD NEWS.....

1) only one package has been sent to india from MIT. to noida in delhi( i am sure it is for DPS..it has to be ).shipped on 16th. maybe the other acceptees are in state indians?...nothing else has been shipped to india from MIT ..maybe they are trickling the data on the system?

i know it is not maing sense ..but every time you call they are ginving you differnet information

Dude. Seriously. There isn't any point calling. At this point, it is very likely that they simply don't have all the information, and that some packages haven't entered their system, and a million other things. Call them on Monday if you must, or just wait for the online decision -- this sort of 'only one package to India' stuff is just going to flip out the entire applicant pool, including you, and it's not worth the energy you're wasting calling.

youe right noldo. i agree with you

yeah
but who ever that guy is from DPS noida...he is gong to have one hell of a celbration

Rationality's not a strong point at the moment, I realize that, but you guys, try to think just a little logically. This sort of information's derivative at best. They might not even have mailed the letters yet. :)

how could that be?

Information from DHL is completely reliable, if you have a package, that means you are in. If you don't have that means you are rejected or Waitlisted. There could be problem if your name isn't mentioned correctly on the packet, but in that case i would be confirming with my zip code and Phone number.

It's hard for me to believe that only one Indian got in, till i cal them myslefy i am not relaxing.

Are all 800 Indians calling? Every time i call DHL, i get a busy tone.

omg- abhi and karthik.. take all our curses for making us get so tense as we still are preparing for the decisions! even if you have called up, please keep that information to yourselves and you will be doing a BIG favor to all the "798 Indians"

I'm exercising extreme self-control, else I'll have cussed u with the choicest expletives... It's extremely wicked of u to spread such nasty rumors... There are 800 of 'em waitin 4 it... and the Indian pool has some of the best applicants...

This nasty biz of spreading rumors just kinda confirms that u r not "good ppl" once of the most important points that MIT considers when finding a match... They've got all sorts of blogs to ease the pressure and u all... go to hell wid DHL

theboy- I am totally with you.

except for the grammar
