I have an upcoming audition for my dream show, Into the Woods. The audition calls for “fairy tale or fairy tale-like” monologues. However, I don’t want to bring something too cutesy for a show like this. Something wistful but still grown-up would be ideal, and nothing from those cringe-worthy fairy tale spoof one-acts. I’m totally stuck as far as where to look. I’ve tried Anne of Green Gables but the version I have isn’t the best. Peter and the Starcatcher was another idea but I can’t get my hands on a script.
I’d love to keep The Baker’s Wife in mind as well, but at this point I’ll take anything. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
