Into what average schools can I get?

I've been a complete bum these past years of my life, and I don't particularly regret it, but my future is now going to pay for it. My GPA was fifty from the bottom of my class at the last time I checked. I'm not involved in any sports, nor have I ever. My writing skills are almost mediocre, so my essay to get into a college might strike up some extra worth. I haven't taken the SATS. Are there any schools in PA or near PA into which I can get? Community College is out of the question, and so is the DeVry Institute.

Why is CC out of the question?

penn state?

Take the SATs in January, apply to schools like Cabrini, Hofstra, chestnut hill, west chester, widener, immalcuta

Does Penn State accept just about anyone to their sub-campuses? What about Ursinus, Loyola, Drew U, Juniata, Allegheny, Kalamazoo, Hendrix, Guilford, St. Olaf, maybe even Bucknell? Or are these also out of reach? I really don't know.

maybe rider in nj, or kean

What about Bloomsburg, Kutztown,or satellite to Penn State?

50 cent: Bucknell would definitely be out of reach

Any Pa state school...

West Chester, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, Millersville, Cal U P, Indiana U P, Edinboro, Lock Haven, Bloomsburg, East Stroudsburg, etc. Each have their own specialties and most/all are in a rural/subarban setting

But...take the SATs! Also, look into York College...a few people in the lower end of my graduating class ended up there...

If your school offers guidance counselling, you should definitely try talking to one of them -- that's what they're there for -- I'm sure they'd be able to point you in the right direction, since they undoubtedly have a great deal of experience with cases similar to yours. I think most public schools offer this service. And keep in mind that you can always transfer to a better school after your first year of college -- I think everyone here at College Confidential would agree that starting at a CC or a DeVry or a similar low-end facility is better than not starting college at all.

Also, if you are a resident of Bucks County, Pa...Bucks County Community College is an excellent community college that has superb placement into four-year universities all over the country...I know you aren't looking for a CC but, it is on par with many of the state schools in Pa...

Food for thought...out of all of the applicants from many schools (including Penn) for transfer admissions at UCLA last year, the only student to be accepted from a Pa school was from Bucks...
