Intro Biology Vs. General Chemistry

Can someone provide me with a general overview of introductory biology and general chemistry at SSP, which one would be better to take?

and if you also can cane someone describe their expereince with Calc I

it really depends…

are you planning to apply to harvard college later on? as far as transferability (should you not go to harvard college), your best bet should be on general chemistry.

as a former ssp student, i took math 1ab (calc I and calc II). because of my high school math and physics background, I didnt find calc I to be that difficult. it was basic calc stuff… however, i found the calc II part to be extremely difficult.

i plan on taking calc 1 at ssp and calc BC at my high school the following fall and i do plan on applying to harvard later and d you think general chem or intro bio could compare with thier ap counterparts

if you are taking g chem or bio at ssp, i dont see the point of taking their AP counterparts at a later time. its a waste of time, unless your school will force you to.

with my case, i took calc 1 and 2 at ssp. after i got back to my school in fall, my counselor refused me to enroll me to AP calc because i already have a credit for it. so instead, i got to leave early from school. yay!

some of my ssp friends who took g chem have adequate chemistry background from HS… they either took regular chemistry or Ap chemistry. despite this fact, they still struggled in g chem at ssp. g chem is tough. period. and i dont think that hs chemistry will ever fully prepare you to a college level chemistry course.

also, you have to remember that intro to bio and g chem are both a year worth of classes. these are tough courses

so lets say if you were to recommend bio or chem would you say bio

well, its really up to you. intro to bio is “easier” based on my observations while in SSP. but as far as other factors such as transferability (should you end up going to a different college), id go with general chemistry.

but if for some reason that you end up taking organic chemistry at SSP, hit me up. i still have all my stuff from the class

cool thnks man
