Intro econ classes - to skip or not?

I'm trying to choose which AP classes I should use for credit since, apparently, there's now a limit on how many AP credits can be used in CALS.

So, I've heard that the introductory econ classes are "weed out" classes and I can get credit for both AP Macro and Micro. But since I'm an AEM major, should I still take the credit place out?

I think I have a pretty good understanding of the concepts in the two subjects. Would intermediate micro be any harder if I don't take intro micro?

P.S. As of now, I have Prof. Thomas Evans, if that changes anything. (Any tips for his class if I do stay?)

Thanks! :)

Yes, Definitely place out. It's not worth it and the intro econ courses are a pain in the ass. If you forget anything, you will re-learn everything you need in intermediate micro.

it's not worth it to take them again, do intermediate. any important prereq micro stuff was glanced over in my 313 class, the concepts are easy enough. can't say about intermediate macro, i'm taking it this semester.

thanks for the input. anyone else?

skip them...weedout courses for a very popular major D:

Completely agree. The classes won't kill you, but if you can skip out of them, by all means, do it!

If I have AP credit in microecon, should I go straight into macro? Will I be missing much if I don't take micro again?

people on here have said that the first weeks of macro is a review of micro...so i'm sure you wont be lost :)

You should try to place out of it. I took Intro to Macroeconomics and well, that class was absolutely horrible. The professor was absolutely boring. Even though the Professor worked in a Canadian ministry of Finance or something, it was still really bad. He doesn't even an email address for crying out loud! It's blocked! Anyhow, I'd suggest that you opt NOT to take intro Econ classes from my personal expreiences.
