Intro level Science course weight?

I'm a Freshman at Colby College, and it's looking like I'm gonig to come out of Chem141 (the first of two Gen Chem courses-- the other being CH142) with a C. This definitely hurts my morale, but how do you think Biology/Environmental Science Gradcoms will view this? So far I have credit for General Bio (AP), an A in Ecology of Wildlife Disease, an A in Astronomy, a B in single Variable calc, and an A in multivariable Calc. So, I guestimate that I can continue to keep ~ a 3.5 G.P.A. in other aspects of my major/education in general (just a little bit of background information).

Obviously, I can do nothing about it, and it's not going to keep me from pursuing my career goals, but how do you think it will affect me/ what shoudl I do to make this only a minor part of my Grad School app.?

Thanks!

Drew

I had a C in my Chem 1 class and had no problems getting into grad school...heck, my PhD is going to be in geochemistry! I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you really don't think you know the material. I'd suggest taking an Environmental Geochemistry class within your major to prove to the graduate committee's that you can handle the right kind of chemistry though.

Yeah, I had a C in physics and was never even asked about it in interviews.

Your GPA is really not what you want to worry primarily about for graduate school. Worry about research experience instead.

Awesome; thank you a TON for your responses... very helpful indeed =).
