Hello! I'm a sophomore mechanical engineering major. I'm currently finalizing my schedule for next semester. I'm considering taking an intro to computer science class. This class is meant for people with some previous programming experience (my freshman year I had to take an intro to excel/VBA class). The programming language they teach in this class is C++. As a mechanical engineering major, I was wondering if C++ is a good marketable skill for one's resume. Thanks!

You’re not going to learn anything substantial enough in one intro class to (a) claim it as a skill on your resume; (b) make mechanical engineering endeavors any more available to you. You’d do just as well to pick up a ‘C++ for Dummies’ book and read through it over winter break! If you’re truly interested in programming, maybe it would be worth it to take it.
