I'm a 3rd year PoliSci major who really wants to get into a solid International Relations MA program at some point. It was brought to my attention recently that it would be strongly to my advantage to have as solid a background in statistics as I can manage.

I've taken STA 2023 (Intro to Stats 1), which is required for my major, but I'm thinking it might be a good idea to take the second half as well. The hitch is, I took 2023 as a freshman, and I haven't had any math to speak of since then. I did well in stats, but I'm generally not stellar in math, and I don't want to murder my GPA with a class that's not really required...

Anyway, knowing that I did well in Stats 1, but acknowledging that I've probably forgotten most of it in the past two years, how difficult is Stats 2 going to be? Does it really build upon the skills from 1, or is it mostly new material? I remember the basics, measures of central tendency, normal curves and all that, but the specific calculating skills disappeared a while ago.

Sorry for the novel. Thanks!
