I'm Joanne, I'm 20 and I'm actually in my 3rd year in college. Studying mathematical physics at University College Dublin, hating it and toying with the idea of coming stateside or to the UK for computer science. So yeah, another math/science geek.

hey marina_b....dun worry....my expectations are unrealistically high too...but ***! no harm givin a shot rite :)

exactly! :)

Hi, I'm from Hong Kong but have been country hopping since the age of 4... Dundee (scotland), London, Guangzhou and most recently Singapore.

A big wave to all int'ls out there!

Oh, hey spiral_blast. I live in Singapore too!

Hey Silver_wavez! Actually I'm no longer living in S'pore but it seems like a 2nd home after such a long time, lol. :D Cheers, and let's see where we both end up this fall!

Complete newbie here, I'm a Finnish senior born in 1986 and will be taking a gap year after secondary school, just for the heck of it and will probably spend that said year freaking about admissions and SATs. I'm not as internationally diverse as many of the posters here, born and raised in Finland but I do speak four languages fluently or near-fluently (Finnish, Swedish, English, French) and then some Italian and German and my heritage is Jewish, so that's got to count for something, right? ;) I haven't taken the SAT yet, so I haven't got results to boast with, but I will be applying to HYP, Brown (current #1), Tufts, UChicago etc with a possible major of IR or European Studies. I know, it's weird, ES in the USA, but hey, what can you do? :)

Shani, you are still far more diverse than me ;) I have lived in Australia my whole life, and apart from English I only speak French. I'd also like to study in the US, possible economics or IR major :)

hey everyone
Nepalese girl here
either going to die of anxiety by march 24 or receive a thick envelope from MIT with full aid
applied to ivies except brown and upenn
applied to gettysburg and stevens institue of technology though im not sure about the scholarship to intl's@stevens

hey silver wavez, me in singapore too..... u from jc or international sch??

grins I'm Singaporean... lived there but moved to sunny CA 4 years ago... waves to everyone and as a result have forgotten half my singlish. >.<

I'm crazy about bio, like chem a lot and adore Literature. But I suck at math. Bleh. Good luck to all of us in this college craze!!

hi,from GuangDong,china
nice to meet you
so many chinese people :)

How do you guys boost your SAT verbal? That's all I ever have problems about. Very few people at my school are English-literate (let alone more advanced English).

SATI V/M 490/800; ACT E25,M34,R21,S30
SATIIs Wr560,MathIIC800, Physics 800, Chem 800, Bio/M 800
GPA 3.94, rank top 20% (ppl btw 3.95 - 4.00 represent the upper 20% here T_T)
School: Mahidol Wittayanusorn School (Still remember some teachers from Beijing No.4 and from Korea's national science school visited my school last year).
First choice: MIT (badly rejected, so now it's Penn).
Others applied: Duke, Cornell, JHU, UCBerkeley, U of British Columbia, RiceAdmitted: UW-Madison, UCSD [Obviously they're at the opposite side of the state: one in the northeast and the other in the southwest. Anyway, I just want to go to a research school and major in molecular biology.], Boston U.

ECs: I love music, running, cooking, and laboratory stuff.

I'm Taiwanese. Been living in the US for 12 years now. Currently in Chicago. Visit Taiwan almost every summer. I absolutely love Duke. I'm also hoping for Johns Hopkins or Yale. I like science, want to major in Biomedical Engineering.
Nice to meet y'all!
