Introducing myself

Hello, I am new and I would like to know more about this forum and also I would like to make new friends  thank you for your welcome

Welcome! Where are you in the process? Presume parent since you chose parent forum? What grade(s) are kids?

Jump in and start reading. I use the latest post view to read threads but you can go to individual forums as well. I’ve found individual forums particularly helpful when researching particular colleges.

Remember that everything you post is public. Be general in info about your kids- ages/grades are fine but no hometown/HS info, especially no real names or other identifying data. Your state is useful because that determines costs and opportunities. Financial concerns matter, as do grade/test score marks of ability when people try to give advice on colleges to consider.

You get used to common shortcut s such as D,S H, W instead of daughter… I personally dislike DD for dear D et al- I feel that is assumed…

Welcome. Stay away from the “chance me” threads. You will learn a lot about searching for college, admissions, and paying for college. The paying for part was what brought me here, and this site was very helpful in that regard.

I think your username is too revealing if that is your actual name!

Shh- do NOT tell us if it is real or not. Let’s assume it is made up. You could probably find a way to discontinue this account and start over with a different name- administrators help! Someone out there knows what to do. Just drop the full name account, even if assumed, and start over without any intro from you. So far you have given no data- keep it that way with the name. Fresh start without revealing you did this one.
