Introduction to Chemistry class?

I had originally signed up for introduction to chemistry to take this fall since I haven’t taken honors chemistry since sophomore year. But, I have done some researching and some have said that the class is a waste of time because it is too hard considering that it is a 2 credit class and is online. Others have said that the class was a great refresher and that it helped for general chemistry. Anybody have any insight on this? Thanks!

Dd you take the ALEKS?? What was the recommendation based on your scores?

Just remember that Chem 2045 is a weed out class so be prepared.

Yes, I took the exam and got a 83%. Based on my score my Preview staffers said that it would be fine if I took Chem 2045 but personally I’m not entirely sure whether or not I should. I don’t want to waste my time taking intro to chem if it’s going to be unreasonably hard considering its 2 credits but I would also like a refresher in chemistry. I’d rather go straight into general chemistry if intro to chem isn’t that great.

So a suggestion might be to simply look over a good quality AP chemistry prep book such as Baron’s and see how well you do. If it looks completely foreign to you, intro might be your best bet. On the other hand, if you seem to recognize quite a bit and the math seems comfortable to you, 2045 should be fine for you.

Thank you for your help!
