Ints with perfect applications except verbal scores, what school are you applying to?

Ints with perfect applications except verbal scores, what school are you applying to?

wish i was qualified to answer this question!! i'm average all-round! :(

actually, it's not perfect
say well rounded except verbal scores
I mean just the scores not in real study life

well most if not all internationals who apply to US have low verbal scores so I dont think they r something which should hold u back. If u are good all round u are sure to get in.
Besides a person with poor Verbal can always take the TOEFL to show his proficiency in English.

sats are only a part...if you create a good app they may not even pay any attention to your scores. you really do have a major chance if your only problem is verbal.

Not all internationals have low verbal scores... I think you should really find out about your country because the adcom would probably judge you based on context and the same verbal score from an english applicant and a spanish applicant may be looked upon with different light.

whatevr it be... low verbal scores wont matter in the long run.... A low verbal score for intl. is justfied even in countries where highest is in 750+ .. for intl other partts of testing and overall application make the kill...... Dont worry ..coz if a perfect application has the only weakness inherent in SAT VERBAL scores .there aint a weakness at all

Thank you all replies and encouraging me!

wat would u guys consider a good score in verbal for intls????

anything above 700. I think

wat the f* is a "perfect application". theres no such thing. snap out of this dilusion. u don't get accepted because you have a 4.0... u get accepted because you are intelligent, hardworking, and passionate. getting good grades is a good indication of those things to the adcom, but its not the ONLY nor SURELY indication.

this is so naive... what the hell is a perfect application? is there a book out there with guidelines?? soooo pathetic

I think it's clearly implied that I used "perfect application" to sum things up and I think it's implied nowhere that I have only good grades.

Anyway, it's good that you share opinions so naive people will know that there's no such thing as perfect app and u don't get accepted because you have a 4.0 but u get accepted because you are intelligent, hardworking, and passionate.

second thought....
the rep above was too much drama
let's say... i was drunk

and BECAUSE you're intelligent, abitious and passionate.. your app gets to be so nicely rounded, which makes it all a magical circle:))

anyway, if you're really motivated intelligent blah blah blah..you'll make sure that you brush up your v score. you'll make sure you master that 1000 words list, do 10 or more practise tests..read a few books, easy- peasy:))

There are thousands of international students living in the US with excellent verbal scores.

But don't admission officiers see how long they lived in the US?
In my case, I just came here like 9 months ago, and somebody said it would be kinda advantage, cuz I have been here less than 1 yr. Is it?

yup u wud be in an advantage

I lived in US for just 10 months, too

I've seen many oversea students with SAT scores above 1450 or even 1500. That means they all scored above 650 on verbal.

How low is your verbal score? I presume you did well on your Writing as you have "perfect" scores otherwise.

If you have low CR and Writing scores and you are applying to the Ivies, I'd recommend that you study up and re-take the SAT (or the ACT).

Btw, a high TOEFL score won't help compensate for the low SAT verbal.

"Btw, a high TOEFL score won't help compensate for the low SAT verbal."

Not true
The wholesole motive of the TOEFL is to compensate for the SAT I English. This fact is explicitly stated by almost all ivies and other big Universities.
Also if u are looking to major in Tech related fields I dont think the english things will matter a lot.
