Hey,
Are inverse trig functions on the Calc AB test? Because my teacher says that we don't need to worry about them, but some of the seniors say that there was a question on inverse trig functions last year. Do I need to self-study inverse trig stuff?

A lot of years, you won’t see inverse trig functions on the AB test, but when they’re on there, they sometimes even show up on the Free Response.

For instance, I don’t know how you’d do 2004 AB3 (<a href=“Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board”>Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board) without knowing about them.

^ Question 3 in that section was in the calculator section, though. And I think most graphing calculators (mine does and it’s a TI-89) have inverse trig operations.

Hopefully most of the inverse trig questions will be in the calculator section this year.

^ That’s true, and they did weenie out of making you find either the derivative of that particular function with the calculator access.
