Investment Banking and Lehigh

How does Lehigh University compare to the ivy's with IB recruitment?

I would also be interested in the answer to this question.

http://www4.lehigh.edu/Media/Website%20Resources/pdf/admissions/LU_placementsummary09.pdf

Unfortunately, this document doesn’t indicate which position they received at the respected companies.

Any other opinions?

Signed up just to answer this question because I can’t stress this enough:

If you want to do IB do not go to Lehigh. This year for Summer Analyst roles:

 • Only Leerink Swann came to Lehigh to recruit for IB.
 • JP Morgan recruited for Private Banking (basically PWM) & S&T
 • Deutche Bank recruited for 2 BO roles
 • Goldman Sachs: 2 BO roles
 • Barclays: Equity Research
 • B of A: S&T

Greg999 does not know what he is talking about. he probably just saw the bank names come and didn’t realize they weren’t interviewing for IB positions. Barclays also had a IB positon posted on career services, but there were no on campus interviews for it.

that being said there are a fair amount of Lehigh Alums at various boutiques and a few at the bulge brackets. Most of them are very nice and are very willing to help out considering they know the challenge we have competing against the target schools. If you are willing to reach out to them then you have a decent shot at landing a IB position (assuming you get the grades and study for the technicals [WHICH LEHIGH’S CORE CURRICULUM DOES NOT PREPARE YOU FOR AT ALL, SERIOUSLY NEED TO DO A LOT OF OUTSIDE STUDYING]).

So you can land a FO role such as S&T or ER, but not IB.

You can definitely get an IB position Lehigh- just don’t expect it to be anywhere near as easy as it is with the target schools. If you can get into one of the other schools and are deadset on doing IB, go there.

Mountainhawk, which “technicals” are you talking about here?

Doesn’t the Finance major at Lehigh cover all the corporate finance, financial accounting, M&A, Valuations and stock market analysis that you would need to know for some of these starting analyst jobs at Investment Banking firms?

Not for Summer Analysts positions for junior summers. All the valuation stuff is mainly covered in your senior year…
