Oh my God. Investment banking isn't what I thought it was. I realized that they have insanely long hours and lots of tedious work. Does it ever get better? I know that the first few years you'll be easily working 100+ hours a week. In about 5 years of investment banking, will it get better? Are there ever 40-50 hour weeks? If it really is as bad as it seems, than I'm thinking of studying to be a consultant. Whats the general job description of a consultant? Do they work long hours as well? What are their salaries like?

Consultants work long hours a lot too, and have to travel often. Just google “management consultant”.

Are there any business careers that require you to only work 40-60 hours a week and have weekends?
