Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone could provide any insight as to how an undergraduate BBA from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame is viewed by NYC Investment Banking firms. Is there a realistic possibility of breaking into the field or at least obtaining internships at BBs like Goldman graduating from there or are those jobs more or less exclusively reserved for Ivy League institutions, plus Sloan, Stanford, and the like? Any opinions would be much appreciated!

What’s your GPA?
What’s your SAT?
What grade are you going into?
Internship experience?

Notre Dame is a tier below the lower Ivies and I’m sure there are many alumni on Wall Street. Network, network, and network. Go to those cheesy (no pun intended) Wine and Cheese events at your school. Your best way of breaking into Wall Street is by networking, getting good grades, and landing good internships.

if you’re going to be a freshman or sophomore, it will be a lot easier. what year will you be?

places very well into chicago banks (both bb and regional), but not much new york recruiting

Thanks for the responses!
@avidstudent I am a rising sophomore this coming fall. Currently, I have a 3.75 GPA and have been on the Dean’s List both semesters freshman year. My SAT was 2120, and my ACT was a 32 (if that matters). I have not obtained any internships yet, but I work at school and will possibly be able to obtain a local boutique Investment Banking internship next summer.

Local boutique banking will be very good prior to junior year recruiting. Anything like that is better than what most kids have heading into junior year. Should be able to get interviews with the Chicago firms.
