<p>From what I’ve gathered:
- 30% of revenues go to the cause
- Kony isn’t even in Uganda anymore
- Most of what people are talking about happened around 5 years ago
- Ugandans have taken action themselves
- We cannot reduce the problem to “good guys vs. Kony,” it’s much more complex
- Africa is not helpless
- Africa is not voiceless
- Africa is tired of western white people thinking they’re helpless and voiceless
- People think they can change the world by liking a Facebook status</p>

<p>I’m another poster who is experiencing KONY fatigue. When I first began watching the video red flags started going off. I wasn’t surprised to hear some of the informed backlash against the campaign. The video cost almost 2 million to produce and still it is full of outdated footage. The politics of the region are complicated and full of corruption, when we support them we support the corruption. There are organizations trying to battle the KONYs of the world, they just don’t take the time to make slick videos and sell merchandise. If I feel like helping I’ll donate to the Red Cross and UNICEF, but not one penny to the Invisible Children.</p>
