Hey guys.
I just received an e-mail regarding an invitation to apply for scholarships. Is this something all applicants get? I'm an OOS applicant, and I do not know much about the UC system, so sorry if this is a stupid question.

I am IN-state from LA and just got the e-mail. I thought it was some sort of hinting at an early acceptance until I read the fine print... Bleh.

Best way to know if it means something is to ask other people in your school who have applied if they got the invitation. That's what I'm going to do tomorrow.

I got the Alumni Scholarship. I had very good stats and scores, but I don't think they even look at that, honestly. Don't remember the application asking for it. They are looking for commitment to extracurriculars and your leadership qualities. My essay was hardly creative (really boring question) so I was worried, but I guess my dedication to certain things was apparent. Also I think I had good recommendations. So now I have $1500 for freshman yr. Then I have to reapply which sucks.

good thing i read this thread. i just looked in my junk email and found the invitation to apply for alumini scholarship. i thought we applied for all scholarships automatically when we completed the application. what happened?

soccersarah017 - I think you are correct. And ameer - it also went into our junk folder - good thing I checked, also! Did anyone actually RECEIVE the Regents invitation as mentioned above, or did everyone receive the same email (Alumni)?
