Invitation to Excellence and Distinguished Scholars Day

I have recently been admitted into the Baylor Class of 2021, but I haven’t decided whether or not I will end up going there as it is so expensive, even after I received their top merit scholarship. I am eligible for both I2E and DSDay with a 34 ACT and a 3.65 unweighted GPA (4.3 something weighted) and I am trying to decided whether or not they are worth attending. Although everything helps, the one time scholarship of 2K for I2E with a chance to apply for full tuition and the possible 3K for DSDay makes it very hard to decide whether or not to attend (especially considering it will probably take around $2,000 to get there and back). Has anyone been to either of the events before, and if so, received the scholarships? Is it worth it?

Yes it is worth it in that when you are invited to attend I2E you get 2500 for attending and are eligible to apply for another scholarship. It was a neat event and you are seated with a faculty member from the college you will be in. Also, you will get to see the whole campus and the classrooms, etc. It should really help you make a decision. As for whether it is worth it, I am the mom of a freshman and it is a lot of money even with his scholarship (he did not get the I2E scholarship). He seems to love it. He is in a great dorm and the staff and advisors have been so kind. They seem to really care and so far he almost a 4.0. I did not attend Baylor so I feel as if I can state honestly it has been great. Good luck on your decision.

What dorm is your student in?

He is in the Teal dorm for engineering and computer science students. It is not far from the science building.
