Invitation to Excellence Nov 2018 event

Hi all- I’m on pins and needles, waiting hopefully for the email inviting my daughter to this year’s Invitation to Excellence. Has anyone gotten their invitation yet? I know they said to expect them today.

My son’s invitation came today at 1:45 Central

Just got ours a little while ago. I wonder what time the Friday reception starts.

Do you all know of the best hotel to reserve for the I2E in Nov?

We signed up for a 4pm special event so I am guessing 5ish? When I read through last year’s thread it seemed to indicate evening.

We reserved Marriott Courtyard, it’s pretty close to the school.

Hotels are pretty full from what I could gather. We are staying at the Hilton

My daughter did not receive anything yet. Did the decisions go out October 4th?

Yeah! My daughter received her invitation in her Go Baylor Account! See you all at Baylor…Sic 'em

Details came today - check-in starts at 6:30, doors open at 7:00. This is assuming you didn’t sign up for one of the two earlier events. We signed up for something at 5, but they didn’t reference it in the email today and I can’t recall what it was or where to go…maybe there will be an additional email.

My DD’s detail email expected on 12 Oct hasn’t arrived, now we are worried somehow her registration didn’t go through. She received the I2E acceptance email on 4 Nov. Anyone else have this issue? We are set up with hotels and everything, hope Baylor will accommodate.

No, but did you receive the piece in the mail yesterday?

No, we didn’t receive mail but the admissions office did confirm she is an attendee. Pshew! Thanks for getting back. Meltdown avoided.

Is anyone planning on the January I2E event? Any National Merit semifinalists?

Looked like 500 kids this weekend, not 300…what did y’all think?

@ratsnotmice my DD applied for the January I2E and she’s a National Merit Semifinalist

Not sure about the number, but seemed massive.

I agree – looked more like 500; we were so impressed, what a great event.

Definitely was a helpful event. My son wasn’t sure after Premiere Day, but now really likes everything he learned. Talking to the students and professors really gave him much more insight into what Baylor offers.

Today is the day we’re on pins and needles here…waiting for the email about I2E January. My DD’s 1st choice is Baylor and she’s received the highest automatic merit-based scholarship but it still puts Baylor as very expensive, especially when Tech and TAMU are offering more on top of being public. We’re praying to hear soon today about I2E. I know it’s still a long shot for the scholarships but at least she’ll keep moving forward in the process. Those that attended the November one, did your email invitations come early or late in the day?
