Does anyone know when the scholarship winners from I2E will be announced? Also how do you recieve your $2000 scholarship for attending?

I know when you submitted the application, it said notifications will be sent by December 22 or 24 or sometime around then. I haven’t gotten anything yet though and am curious how soon they might be sent out. On the $2000, I think they said it will be added to your account, and you will get it your freshman year.

Good luck! Did you apply to any honors programs BIC or USP? Also did you see another I2E is coming up in January?

No, I decided not to apply to any of the honors programs. I haven’t heard of another one in January. Where did you hear about it?

It’s on the Baylor web site Jan 21 & 22. I hope that group is not competing for the same 50 scholarships. I need one to afford Baylor. Are you National Merit?

Yes, I am national merit. I just looked up the I2E in January using the same web address I used for the one in October. It looks like the same thing to me. I don’t think they would be competing for the same scholarships. The winners are supposed to be announced this month. I wonder if this is for those who couldn’t attend the first one. Should we go to the one in January if we went in October already?

No, the one in January is for new recruits. Please post if you hear about I2E scholarship decisions. Good luck!

I just saw online that I was invited. It said invites were mailed on the 6th, but I never received one. I’m not a National merit semifinalist, but I received good ACT scores and got a high scholarship, so I guess I am invited

I received a notification letter in the mail today even though I didn’t get the scholarship. Good luck to everyone who’s still waiting for their letter.

Did they also notify you on your Go Baylor account about not getting the scholarship?

No, there’s nothing about it on my GoBaylor Account

I got the letter today, no scholarship for me. Best of luck to anyone who is still waiting to hear!

Sorry you didn’t get the scholarship but thanks for posting, no one I’ve heard from has gotten it. I’m out of state until Jan. 3rd and will have to wait until then. I really want to go to Baylor but I need that scholarship. Sounds like my chances are slim.

Denied here also. Hope somebody gets it.

How many people get the scholarship?

50 were to be awarded or 10% of those who went. Sure would like to hear from someone who actually got it. Best of luck to those who haven’t heard yet.

Oh well I just got the letter in the mail… I got it lol ^^;

Congrats! That’s good news. Can you tell us your major? Will you do honors, Univeristy Scholars?

Uh well I applied as an engineering major but I plan to switch, if possible, as soon as I can to neuroscience, premed, possibly a minor in journalism… we’ll see.

As for Honors, I’m not sure yet, the application is pretty much done, but depending on circumstances, it might not be in my best interests. I’m not doing University Scholars because I like the structure of traditional majors and the application process isn’t worth it, I’d rather slim down the applicant pool for those that really want it. (:

^Why’d you apply to engineering if you already know you want to switch?

Also, regarding honors …
We learned during our recent visit to Baylor’s Honors College that the University Scholars program is NOT open to engineering majors. The director of the University Scholars program said that the engineering major is not compatible with the University Scholars major. I mean, you can be a University Scholars student and take some engineering classes, but you will not graduate with an engineering degree. We were surprised, since there is no mention of this on any of the sites or in any of the literature that we saw. But, it’s true.
