whateverlemon…you’re not LSP’d, right? Or an AUDITION school? If not…nevermind…just CONGRATS!!!

haha I hope so.
my SAT is 2390
SATIIs 800 and 800, GPA 4.0, rank 1/380

I am applying to ivies, got deferred from yale EA

R124687 - Do you think the AUDITION schools find out later?
Also - does NYU send emails out after 5pm NY time or should we give up checking till Monday? Oy!

reenieg, my son’s program IS an audition program. And he got the email.

jazz/shreddermom - Congrats to your son! Thanks for your reply. I am glued to the laptop - so stressful. Trying to remember that she will wind up where she is supposed to be. Breathe…

Oh gosh reenig (like renege…in Euchre?). I wish I had answers. I don’t KNOW why they make this so stressful. I’m leaning MORE toward believing this is a top/honors grouping. So, for “audition” slots…maybe just the TOP of that area? But others will be accepted too!!!

I HOPE so…my daughter NEEDS merit aid!!! Seems like all the e-mails came out at about the same time. But…who knows…at this time of year surely someone works weekends!

The other thread (or this one…I’m so confused!) said that admissions said they ARE coming out in groups/batches/waves. It’s not over 'til the Fat Lady sings! Luck to all. My daughter doesn’t even KNOW this is going on right now! I’m the one stressing for her. Yes…“It is what it is”. I also have said, many times…my D will end up where she should. If I can’t afford NYU…then maybe it’s because I’ll go out of cancer remission and she would have had to come home due to finances. THAT would be tragic. Better to spend 4 years at state UNI than have that disappointment. Que sera sera.

OK … Stupe…I bow to your superiority (meant in a NICE way!)…I know you weren’t pulling rank, just explaining…my D is not even in your LEAGUE!!! But…does go to show what I’m hoping (You’ll be leading the Stern pack -Stern, right?, but my daughter will be bringing up the CAS rear). That’s OK with me!!

Because I want EVERYONE on CC to get in!!!

yes, reenig, I want to add to what R##### said above. If this is anything like the postcards they sent in previous years, they are NOT finished emailing - even beyond today. Just guessing here, but that’s my take, and I think someone posted calling admissions and being told as much.

No idea whey they make it so stressful.

I also got the e-mail, but there is no way I would be part of the “honors” program. I probably got into LSP (STILL REALLY EXCITED!) Is this confirmed 1000000% that the e-mail is an acceptance?? Sorry, but it’s just too good to be true!

@laframboisevert

Yep. Multiple individuals called admissions and were told email = acceptance; they did not have to offer their name, nothing. Email = acceptance, fer sure.

Congrats!

Yes nyu stern i love life

My daughter got this email too and all I can say is:
- I hope they loosen the purse strings and give lots of aid.
- SCREW Chapman which didn’t accept her! Their loss!

lol i got this too. =)

So if we got this email, does this mean we get into the school that we applied to or is it possible that we got into LSP?

i got this email too =] hopefully it’s not LSP…if it’s LSP then i guess I will go to USC instead =] if it’s not LSP…then I have to decide between USC and NYU… (hard to decide
although NYU doesn’t give out much money at all…
)

@R12… aw thanks! i know, i’m used to it, i go to an extremely competitive school, i know alot of “smart” people
but i hope your “theory” is right about the “honors, etc”
that would be amazing!!!

I got this email as well - applied to Stern. Does that mean I’m in?
“While your decision packet will not be mailed for another 2 weeks…” I hope that means they’ll send out a formal acceptance, just to put us at ease :P

@catherineee yes, i called, they’re sending “official” letters april 1… even though it already is technically “official” ;p

Good things really do come unexpected! Stern! Here’s hoping for some mo’ney!

Does anyone know if your financial aid come in the packet of your decision, or is it seperate?

My son got the same e-mail. We are all celebrating! He applied to Gallitan. His stats were GPA 3.8 ACT 30 but he wrote really killer essays and is a really quirky person who has had unusal experiences. I think Gallitan looks for a particular kind of student rather than just academics.

Sounds like this email is ahead of or instead of the invitations that were sent previous years to most accepted students. I say “most” because D was accepted and never got an invite. Don’t know if it was an oversight or got lost or if it was only sent to most (but not all) students. However, D was admitted into Steinhardt Scholars and invited to take honors seminars, so I don’t think this email is being sent to only those in “honors”?

R124887…what do you mean by honors grouping? I think that MLK scholars have their own separate thing, but these invites are by school and then the kids are broken out into smaller groups that day by major, etc. D never got the invite, but after she got her acceptance packet we inquired about attending and she did. It was not an honors thing.
