<p>I just got an email from UCR inviting me to apply for admissions. I applied to UCLA but didn't get in, but that means they have my application. Do you think its worth going through and filling the form out? Has anyone else gotten this? I'm oos by the way</p>

<p>I also got this e-mail. I applied to UC Berkeley and didn’t get in. I don’t know exactly what it means, as it seems a bit last minute.</p>
<p>Same. I just did it since it was free and the opt-in form was literally two questions. </p>
<p>UC’s have a thing that if you don’t get accepted to the schools you applied to, you get an acceptance to another school if you’re the top 4% or so based on the UC scale. </p>
<p>@clarissabby that only applies to in state students, and would mean Riverside has openings, which it didn’t last year. It might be trying to pick up higher stat students to make sure it doesn’t have openings for the lowest stat students… Hm… </p>
<p>I doubt it is a scam. Apply if you would like to go there. Don’t waste their time or yours if you wouldn’t. apply in the major you want. List the other as an alternate if you are nervous, but tell them what you want. You won’t get it if you don’t ask for it, and after all, they came to you.</p>
<p>Weird because I was rejected from UCD UCI UCSB UCSD and was waitlisted for UCR but received and ivitation from UCM thats I was in I applied to all those schools except UCM. I am ELC approved which explains the invitation from UCM but you got one from UCR wich is weird</p>

I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering for the ones that posted in here @hamimelans @malubra . Did you get accepted when you applied? My D got the invitation this year and just wondering if it’s worthwhile.
