Invited to "Junior Days"

My D has been invited to several Ivies' "junior days." What, if anything, does that mean? Other than she is on their radar....

My experience with DIII junior visit days is that it was just a standard group tour given by Admissions, but only with high school juniors who all play the sport. This was followed by a detailed tour of the athletic facilities, Q&A, and lunch with the sport’s coaches and a couple of players. Really, nothing special. But that was DIII. I will be curious to hear from others about Ivy experiences.

It is a chance to become more familiar with the school, programs and admissions & athletic expectations. While you are there, you can schedule some face time 15-20 minutes with the coach or however long he/she is available. If you have interest in these schools and it is somewhat convenient…it is worthwhile. It is also a chance to learn what you like and dislike about some schools. Good luck.

It definitely means that she’s on their radar. It’s a chance to meet the coach, team mates, and check out the college. Some junior days are almost like mini-officials, with the exception that the college can’t pay for the visit.
